ACE Appreciates the Support of the
Ancient Coin Collectors Guild!!

The Ancient Coin Collectors Guild ("ACCG") sponsored an initiative to fund participation in the ACE program for first-year schools. This initiative, the New Schools Outreach Grant, also matched ACCG Affiliate and individual members in a mentor capacity with these new ACE schools.

Five schools were eligible under the grant for the 2005-2006 academic year and included:

> La Salle High School in Pasadena, California was mentored by Ken Baumheckel, who represented the Ancient Coin Club of Los Angeles ("ACCLA"), an ACCG Affiliate

> The Milken Community High School in Los Angeles, California was mentored by Ken Baumheckel, again representing the ACCLA

> The Tampa Prep School in Tampa Bay, Florida will be mentored by Robert Schneider, who represents the Ancient Peddler Yahoo discussion group, an ACCG Affiliate

> Mark Twain Middle School in Silverton, Oregon will be mentored by Greg Franck-Weiby, an ACCG member

> The Holy Redeemer School in College Park, Maryland will be mentored by Mike Mehalik, who represents the Ancient Numismatic Society of Washington, D.C., an Affiliate member

Here is teacher Kimberly Kemtes in CA receiving a Stephen Arnold prize ( Roman coin of Emperor Philip I, from Moesia, with Bull and Lion representing the Legions stationed there on the reverse). The coin was presented to Kimberly by Numismatist Ken Baumheckel, who is mentoring Kimberly's school, the Milken Community High School in Los Angeles, which is sponsored by the Ancient Coin Collectors Guild (ACCG) and ACE.
